New Forum :: Apparently our last forum got spammed to all hell. Do these people think that links to pills and sexual products actually work? Do they actually work? I hope I never meet the person who clicks on one of their links willingly. Anyhow, new spam-free forum!
UWeekly Feature & Review :: UWeekly, an Ohio State University newspaper with a circulation of over 25,000 has published a feature on us in their print & online editions. Click here to read the article. Karen Noonan has also published the first comprehensive review of Eleventy Billion at I-See-Sound.com. Click here to read the review.

Eleventy Billion Limited PreRelease :: We're very happy to announce that Omnibucket is releasing a limited edition CD & 56-Page Lyric Book for our new album, Eleventy Billion. Available in only 100 hand-numbered books (with CD), it is available now for pre-order through their site. Get 'em while they're hot!
CD Release Shows & such :: We're also in the process of hammering down some dates in multiple cities, including Columbus, for our upcoming release of Eleventy Billion. We have one scheduled for Cincinnati, but more will be popping up as we solidify the "official" date.

The Hall of Douchebags Beckons :: So, a few weeks ago we were contacted by C Magazine about a feature they wanted to do on us.
Now, we're always excited about extra publicity...but then they had us do a photo shoot. We're the ones to blame of course for not taking charge and directing it ourselves, and we've learned that now. Instead, we followed along like penguins when we were directed to kneel down next to these brick walls, in front of these fireworks, then have dez straddle bill like in Michelangelo's "Pieta", and look really serious.
What did we think would happen? Well, your suspicions are correct, and I'm sure Rock 'n' Roll Confidental will be calling soon with an award for Douchebags of the year. Also, if anyone has a set of railroad tracks, can we borrow them? Click here to view our douchebagginess.

Happy New Year everyone...and a great one it's shaping up to be! We're in the final stages of mixing our new album, which will be followed by getting it mastered. We're currently in talks with a few folks at a few places regarding production of the album itself, so all in all I would expect a CD Release around March. Keep yer ears open for more as things develop.

Three Days in Lexington Kentucky, The Eleventy Billion Sessions :: Three Days. That's how long it takes a fly to live a full life, the sun's light to reach Alpha Centuri, and to record our next studio album. At least the latter is true. For three days we filled up Duane Lundy's beautiful Shangri-La Studios with both our sounds and our collective stinks and came out the other side with a beautiful snapshot of our current repetoire of new songs. As it stands now all the basic tracks are completed and sounding spectacular. Sometime in the next month we're going back down to re-track the piano on a real piano (instead of a keyboard) and then once we find a way to pay Duane, it'll be mixed, mastered, and ready for mass consumption.
In the meantime, please enjoy the photos of the sessions that are now available in the Citizen's Section.
Also, please visit our Forums for all the details, thoughts, and emo-esque feelings on the recording sessions, including a very special thank-you to Coop, Daemon, and Jennifer for their Kentucky hospitality and two very special days of sweet sweet studio catering! More to come of course.
Oh yeah...and Happy Turkey Day to all tomorrow...!

Studio Recording in Lexington :: The big news is that we are in fact heading to Lexington Kentucky in November/December to work on our next studio album with producer Duane Lundy. We're psyched as hell of course, and we hear the rest of you are as well, so that's encouraging. As a trade-off you'll notice that our touring schedule is going to be very slim over the next few months. Have no fear though, we'll play in and around Columbus in the meantime and hit the road as soon as we have an album.
New Music Videos :: That's right, we finally have music videos! Thanks to burgeoning filmmaker Mike Newman who has put together pieces of live footage and bits of shenanigans at the Bucket for an new view of Down to the City, Ghost Parade, She & Her Lips, and a few oddball extras. Available Now in the Citizen's Section, along with a plethora (yes, I would say it is a plethora, and I know what a plethora is) of new audio-visual gadgets and gizmo's for your amusement. There's some photography by Karen Noonan from the Midpoint Music Festival, some new live mp3s of material that is soon to be recorded, and the coolest present we've ever gotten from a fan. Click here to take a look.
Doorlock Keyhole 3rd to break through MTV's swollen cherry :: See, we can be lewd even without our old name. Anyway, Doorlock Keyhole clocked in at almost a minute on the cue sheets for MTV's Real World Austin (Season 16, Episode 15). I still haven't seen it, but apparently the song is played when the drunk annoying guys try to get the drunk annoying girl out of jail. I hear it's high quality entertainment. If I can get a clip of the section I'll post it here. Thanks to Lewis Clark for cueing us up!
New Band Review in Cincy's City Beat :: As part of the Midpoint Music Fest's preview, the following was written of our humble quartet:
"Black Cat Revival (Columbus, Ohio) Progressive Pop :: The artists formerly known as Wigglepussy, IN are larger than life in every aspect. Their instruments, lyrics, personas, musicianship and especially their fearlessly complex songs are all so dauntingly huge as to be cartoonish. But their ability to make the guitar-less, theatrical stew deliciously user-friendly is their most monumental asset. Dig It : Frank Zappa, Ween, almost any band with Mike Patton (EW)"
BCR on Save Our Strays Compilation :: I'll let the press release take care of this. Please read, this is a unique & important effort:
"Many local animal lovers have been traveling to the Gulf Coast to rescue abandoned pets and bring them here in hopes of having them re-claimed by their original owners or adopted by local families. It is a grand gesture considering that every year, approximately 34,000 pets are euthanized or "put to sleep" in Greater Cincinnati shelters alone.
One way to help local homeless animals as well as get a little something for yourself is by purchasing
The Save Our Strays "FREE LAP DANCES VOL. 2: RETURN OF THE SNUGGLER" CD. It is now for sale at internet retailer, CDBaby as well as at local stores Everybody's Records, Natural Life Nutrition Shoppe in Hyde Park/Oakley, Shake-it Records, & Wizards Music & Movies. All proceeds go to Save Our Strays.
Jacob Heinz of Cammy-award winning local band, Buckra, produced this CD as well as the first "FREE LAP DANCES" CD. Music featured on the CD include songs from local and regional artists BethAnne Stagge, Black Cat Revival (formerly Wigglepussy, Indiana), Buckra, Bump, Just M, Kelly Richey Band, Kevin Fox Band, Langus, The Newbees, Philosopher's Stone, Robin Lacy, Tonefarmer, Wallac's Line, and Wojo.
CD sponsors include cincymusic.com, Everybody's Records, Mid-Point Music Festival, Northside Tavern, QCA Inc., Shake-it Records, Soupie's Bar & Grill, Stanley's Pub, Stagge's Saloon, and Wizard's Music & Movies.
Save Our Strays was organized in 1998 to help reduce the number of stray cats and dogs in Greater Cincinnati through non-lethal methods. We are a non-profit, 501©(3) organization. We do not have a shelter, but, rather, foster animals in the homes of volunteers. Our goals are to help humanely control the local stray population by using the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) method for feral cats and adoption when possible.
The first "FREE LAP DANCES" CD may also be purchased at cdbaby as well as at www.galaxycds.com and the above listed local retailers.
Cats & dogs go into heat at a young age and reproduce up to 3 times a year. 1 cat & her offspring can produce up to 420,000 kittens in 7 years. 1 dog & her offspring can produce up to 67,000 puppies in 6 years. Please spay & neuter your pets and all strays to help reduce the unwanted pet population."

Our good friend Nathaniel is back from IRAQ! Lima company, hit extremely hard and put through the rigors in Iraq, have returned. They're not "home" yet, and I don't know any details, but word is that Nathaniel is safe and will be back in Columbus shortly. We're proud of ya, dude, we're glad you're back, and we can't wait to see ya.
A big "THANKS!" to Downtown Brown and all the sweet people in Ann Arbor who came to see us on Saturday. That show rocked. In fact, I'm listening to the recording now and will be posting some mp3s, as well as many other bits like music videos, more photos, a firecracker from Bowling Green, a review in City Beat, and many good pieces of news from the last few weeks that I've been meaning to post. Keep an eye out in the next few days.

Free Art for helping Katrina victims ::
Get something for helping people who really need it.
As you know, hurricane Katrina basically kicked the ass of part of the Southern U.S.
Love it or hate it and all jokes aside, there are very small kids and families who are hurting in a big way right now. What the disaster relief agencies need more than anything is money. I know it is suspect, giving money to organizations, but you can get an advanced preview print from an upcoming Omnibucket release as incentive for a donation to the Red Cross.
If you want to know more check it out here: http://www.omnibucket.com
ALL of the money will be sent to the Red Cross. There is no money being made off of this by either the artist, any of us, or Omnibucket. We're in it for the karma, and plus how could we not help?

"Formerly Wigglepussy, Indiana" :: Well, we went and done it now. Your faithful merchants of music mayhem have dropped the dusty cloak of their former namesake, and the drama that was dragging along its coattails. We are now officially Black Cat Revival, though I suppose for the next few months, we're most likely going to be more officially known as "Black Cat Revival, the band formerly known as Wigglepussy Indiana". Yay for that. The official "coming out" party will be on September 9th at Madlab Theatre.
"Last Wigglepussy Show" Live CD :: As with any new beginning, it's important to pay our respects and celebrate what we're leaving behind, while simultaneously welcoming in the new era. So, it just so happens that our last performance as Wigglepussy was recorded and came out sounding extremely well. So, we've mastered it, tracked it, made a cover, and are now offering it as the first release under Black Cat Revival. Get them while they last in our online store!
June Forum Contest Winner :: Congrats to "Daemon" from Lexington, KY for winning 2 free concert tickets and a free copy of our recently released Live Vol 1 CD. His t-shirt description which won us all over and sent us howling in laughter uses lyrics from Revival. Thanks to everyone who participated and check out the forum for the August contest announcement coming very soon.

I've got the moon in my head

But What Do The British Think?? :: In international news, Adam Harrold at Gigs Unlimited in the UK wrote a new review on us. Quoth Adam: "Basically, if you like experimental music with Black Sabbath vocals and a Zappa like Musicianship (albeit without guitars!) that really pushes the boundaries of both expectation and tolerance, then this could be an hour's worth of bliss." You can read the full version in our Citizen's Area
Monthly Forum Contests & Tour Diary :: New on the forum now are monthly contests with prizes, moderated by our own Street Team member Asa Mackay. This month's contest is "The Origin of Mister Earl". "Inside Wigglepussy's Bucket" Documentary DVD Released :: Filmmaker Mike Newman's first foray into our underbelly has been edited from hours upon hours of ridiculous and revealing footage into a 30 minute romp through the pre-LATG days down at the Bucket. A web version is available for viewing in the Citizen's Area (taken from UndergroundFilms.org, where it's gaining some popularity) and the full DVD, artfully packaged, is available for purchase in our online store.
New Live MP3s of Unreleased Material :: We're now up to 10 new fully-completed songs since our last album release, many of which will appear on the upcoming Eleventy Billion record which is slated for recording in late summer or early fall. Many of these songs have been played at recent shows, and for better or worse, we've decided to post some of those live recordings in the Citizen's Area. Hope you like 'em...and let us know what you think by posting in the forum. Oh yeah...Banjo just posted all the lyrics to these songs in the forum as well.
New Photo Galleries :: Many new photo galleries are also now up in the Citizen's Area from our recent string of shows in Chicago, Indiana, and last week's at Madlab Theatre in our dear own Columbus. Also, you'll find some pics from Monday's after-hours party at the Bucket following the Instant Death show (featuring Ween's bass player) at Bernie's. Oh, and of course some pics of our dear touring vehicle, the Big Blue Machine, complete with leaky radiator.

Press Review from Cincinnati's City Beat :: We were featured as "Gig of the Week" last week at our free show at the Barrelhouse, which oddly enough closed 2 days later. We shut that place down! Anyhow, here's a sample of the review. Please visit the Citizen's Area to see the full article.
"At heart, the guitarless quartet is a Prog band, but their concentration on musical extremism and showmanship trumps the geeky math-rocker stereotype." -Ezra Waller
New Photos & Fan Art :: Banjo used his nifty little camera-phone to document a few moments from our recent trip to The Royal in Baltimore. Street Team Member Alex Huffman also volunteered his services for our ongoing "Make us a Wigglepussy Indiana comic strip" contest. We're also in the process of getting video from our 1.15.05 MadLab show, and shots of our "new" clunker touring vehicle, the Big Blue Machine web-ready so we can get them up here for you. There are all either currently, or soon-to-be available in the Citizen's Area.
Congrats to Zac Trotter & Claudia Bodington for being our newest Street Team Members of the Month! Click here to read about them.

RIP HST :: A sad day for weirdness and brilliance in America and beyond. Hunter S Thompson has committed suicide at 67 years old. Below is a letter from our own dear Banjo on the subject, including the best eulogy I believe the Great Doctor could've asked for.
A good friend of mine, Joel Ingersoll, gave me a copy of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas as a gift when I graduated from college in 1998. In two short summer days, I read the book and realized that everything I'd learned up to that point in my life had been a mountain of well-concocted bullshit.
I've always known that I love to write. But reading Fear and Loathing was an awakening for me. It taught me to seek out my own voice. That brilliantly psychotic s.o.b. inspired me to open my mind and dig deep for unusual truths. His influence is present in all my writing, music, and art.
Since that summer in 1998, I've excitedly digested many other HST works. He had a way of making words explode and tango and fire their pistols into the drunken night. Always poignant...and always thrilling.
And...while I'm completely surpised by the Great Doctor's suicide, I guess one could argue that this fits with his persona. He lived by his own rules...it's probably right that he died by them. 67 years old...probably in poor health. I can totally see him sitting down with a gun and saying, "Eat batshit Grim Reaper"...BOOM!
Well, cheers, good-riddence, thank you, please, and forever Dr. Gonzo. You will live on in the pursuits of many, including myself, who were so enthralled by your mantra: "It never got weird enough for me." -Dr. Hunter S. Thompson
Love,
Banjo

New Forum :: Bye bye outdated guestbook, hello high-class forum. One of our street team members took it upon himself to act as administrator for the forum, which includes a special Street Team Only section to discuss ideas, compare notes, and generally schmooze in an online speak-easy. Click the link on the nav bar at the top to see what the hell I'm talking about. Drop us a line, we don't bite.
New Logo & Promotional Items :: You all knew it was coming. After months of chicken scratch, spilled inkwells, and banging our collective head against the insides of The Bucket, we have fashioned the official Wigglepussy Indiana seal. Poster, flier, and sticker designs have been created, the trees have been cut down, and the ink is being squirted out of Banjo's ear.
Tour Diary :: Weekend of 2/11/05-2/13/05
A big thanks and hello to all our new friends in Frostburg and Baltimore (MD)! Getting out on the road has been a treat so far. Starting a couple of months ago, we've been hitting the road every weekend: Dayton, Cincinnati, Athens, Bowling Green, Louisville & Newport (KY), and just this past weekend in Frostburg & Baltimore (MD).
Friday night found Wigglepussy at The Beegle, a cool little rock n' roll ballroom in Frostburg, with the Distorted Penguins who kicked serious ass and were gracious hosts. Wish we coulda stayed up and partied with them all night, but we had to get some shut-eye for the next night.
Saturday's show at the Royal in Baltimore featured the Extra Value Meal of the music world...5 bands for $5!! Cheers to Peter for treating us well and running a great venue...dark, underground, rock n' roll all the way, and soundmen which gave us the best stage mix this side of The Bucket. The bill featured some good Baltimore bands including The Happy and The Sad, who smacked me in the head with their early Nirvana-ish mixed with some trippy Lake Trout sound. Thank Joe (Eat Your Neighbors) for setting it all up and making us feel welcome! We can't wait to get back to Baltimore.
We're taking this weekend off to scrub ourselves and plug Dez back into the generator, but we're already itchin' to cram all of our shit into a van and hit the road to see you again. Look for us in Cincinnati, Dayton, Indianapolis & Terra Haute (IN), and Chicago (IL). See you soon...and if we haven't met you yet, feel free to introduce yourself.

Man, I can't WAIT for Champipple's first release. Our show with them on Friday at Andyman's Treehouse was a blast. Thanks to James, Zack, Kevin and the rest of our old-school fans for sneakin' in and kickin' it with us. Angie Needels took some photos of the show and I posted them in the Citizen's Area. We also had a great evening in Bowling-Green at Howards with Crazy Eddie on Saturday. Congrats to Geoff Bowman for winning our New Subscriber Contest for that show. Expect a free CD in the mail soon...
Also up in the Citizen's Area are some new free live mp3s, including unrecorded/unreleased material as we gear up for the recording of a third album later in the year. Enjoy. The tentative title to this album, since Dez already yapped about it on our board, is going to be Eleventy-Billion, and looks like it will once again be recorded by Chris Siefert who will be flying in from San Francisco to document 2 weeks of madness at The Bucket.

A warm and
happy new year filled with Whoopety-Smacks galore to all of
you. And what a better way to kick it off than with
2 great shows in a weekend. York St in Newport KY was a great
venue and we'll be back soon. The "Ooooooh!"
Show at MadLab on Saturday was a blast. Thanks to
everyone for getting down with us and for giving Oxymoronatron
and Walt James a great reception as well. Congrats
to Beth Wilmhof & James Sherman for winning our
New Subscriber Contests for those 2 nights.
New photos from Saturday are up in the Citizen's
section, and I will shortly be posting some live
mp3s of new songs from that night as well. Many thanks to
Angie Needels
for the photography.
Gail Worley, "Rock Critic At-Large", has graciously written a review of Life At The Gallows which will appear on Starpolish.com in the coming months. Gail is a highly-respected music journalist who has
chilled with everyone from Al Jourgenson and Marilyn Manson to John Paul Jones and Steven Perkins, with her writings appearing in publications such as Rolling Stone, Modern Drummer and Ink 19 to name a few. Check her out at http://www.worleygig.com to see what I mean. Here's what she had to say:
Aside from its really, really bad name, Columbus, Ohio's Wigglepussy Indiana are one of the most unique bands I've ever heard, on Starpolish or elsewhere. I'm not quite sure how to describe them beyond the obligatory "theatrical rock" moniker, and I"m guessing their live show is absolutely killer. "Transylvanian Moonshine" a pleasantly moody synth masterpiece -- works as borderline goth pop or art rock. With a Broadway Musical-worthy vocal performance simply begging to be licensed for film and TV, even the chorus "Transylvanian moonshine/Warms my head in the dark secret night" hints that this song aspires to be part of something bigger. "Diamondback Jaws" is an extremely ambitious mini-epic rock opera, which would appeal to fans of jazz-influenced avant-prog rock behemoths like Dream Theater. Last but not least "Big Blue Machine" sounds like Primus meets Yes. Too bad "Wigglepussy Indiana" sounds like the name of a house band on some nauseating daytime kids TV show. Recommended If You Like: Fantomas, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Primus, Ween, David Lynch films, Frank Zappa, The Residents, Yes, Medeski Martin & Wood.
Congrats to Asa Mackay for being our newest Street Team Member of the Month! Click here to read about him.
Blossoming indie filmmaker Mike Newman recently finished a half-hour documentary DVD called "Inside Wigglepussy's Bucket" to highlight us being geeks in our underground lair. Even so, we're still going to suck it up and put it out there for public scrutiny. I'll be adding it to the store page shortly after we design a perty cover for it, but feel free to email me in the meantime if you're interested. I'll post some clips shortly too in the Citizens Area so you can see what you're getting into.
